Three drug dealers get life jail

The UAE’s top court sentenced three Bangladeshi drug dealers to life in prison and ordered their deportation after they were convicted of selling narcotics to a police undercover, newspapers said on Saturday.

Two courts had initially sentenced the three to life in jail, prompting them to appeal the verdict with the Federal Supreme Court (FSC).

A panel of judges on Thursday rejected argument by the three that their confessions earlier were made through a police interpreter who could be biased. It upheld the earlier verdict and also sentenced a fourth defendant to four years in prison for possessing drugs for personal use.

The three were accused of selling 293 gm of hashish to a police undercover for Dh1,500 and all of them confessed to the crime.
