Schoolboy cuts mate’s throat over love affair

A high school boy slashed throat of his classmate with a paper cutter during a brawl over twin sisters studying in the same class.

Both the boys were hospitalised in Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital in Anuradhapura area of Sri Lanka, ‘Lankadeepa’ reported.

A hospital spokesman said the victim, a resident of Thalawa area, was recovering after surgery while the accused, a resident of Elayanpattuwa area, was also admitted to the same hospital for the injuries he suffered during the fight.

Police investigation revealed that the fight broken out between the two boys over love affair with the twin sisters. The student attacked his classmate for having an affair with both the sisters.

Anuradhapura police are investigating.
