Mikel Arteta could end up costing Arsenal their third-place finish.

Arteta has been key to Arsenal’s revival and his hold up play and attacking flair will be sorely missed as an injury is likely to keep him out for the rest of the season.

What’s worse for Arsene Wenger is that Jack Wilshere is also out for the season and Aaron Ramsey is not in the best of form.

As Newcastle continue their relentless push for a top four finish, Arsenal might find themselves lacking in the midfield department.

With Tottenham not out of it yet, Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea becomes very important.

A loss there could open the door for trouble and end up costing Arsene Wenger a strong finish to the season.

Arteta’s goal against Manchester City only further strengthened the beilief that without him the Gunners are a weak side.
Just ask Wigan.
