50% of government services to run on AI in 2 years: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today announced the new UAE Government Ecosystem, which aims to transform 50% of government sectors, services and operations to implement autonomous AI and Agentic AI models within two years. To be the first UAE government in the world to transform its sectors and services to self-executing and driving models from artificial intelligence.

"Artificial intelligence models can now monitor variables, provide analytics, make recommendations, manage operations, and implement an independent series of actions without human intervention... AI will be our government executive partner to support decisions, improve services, increase the efficiency of operations, and even evaluate results and make improvements in real time,"His Highness wrote on his official account on the "X" platform.

"Under the directives of my brother, the President of the UAE, may God protect him... Today, we announce the new UAE Government System, which aims to transform 50% of government sectors, services and operations to implement self-executing AI and Agentic Ai models within two years... To be the first UAE government in the world to transform its sectors and services into self-executing and driving models from artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence models can now detect variables, provide analytics, make recommendations, manage operations, and perform an independent series of actions without human intervention. AI will be our government executive partner to support decisions, improve services, increase the efficiency of operations, and even evaluate results and make improvements in real time. We have a specific date to accomplish this transformation according to the directives of the President of the UAE, may God protect him, which is two years... The evaluation of ministers, directors general and all federal entities during the two years will be based on their ability to keep pace with this transformation. And their speed in applying the new standards of government work. Their understanding of the new technological reality that the world is experiencing, and their skill in using artificial intelligence tools to create entirely new mechanisms to manage future government work," Sheikh Mohammed added in the post.

His Highness added: "We will also transform all federal government employees to be experts in this field through continuous specialized training... Our goal is to be able to absorb this transformation... We will have the best experts in the world in the government's transformation towards artificial intelligence technologies. The government is proud of its cadres and all its employees... It will train them, refine them, raise their value and build their capabilities to manage the largest transformational government project over the next two years."

His Highness continued: "My brother Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed will oversee the realization of the vision of my brother the President of the UAE, may God protect him, in this important government transformation... We have formed a working team headed by Mohammed Al Gergawi to follow up on the implementation under the supervision of His Highness."

His Highness concluded: "The world is changing and tools are evolving. Technologies are accelerating... The main goal will remain the human being. Our goal will remain to create the best environment for him to unleash his potential, achieve his goals and build his decent life. A new phase in the government.
