Abu Dhabi launches digital issuance and attestation of birth and death certificates
New integration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Health enables certificates to be issued and attested through a single digital platform.
Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) have activated an electronic link for the issuance and attestation of birth and death certificates through the Abu Dhabi Government Services platform, TAMM, in a move aimed at enhancing government service efficiency and simplifying customer journeys.
The new service allows customers to complete the issuance and attestation process through a single digital platform within minutes and at any time, eliminating the need to navigate multiple channels.
The electronic integration is designed to respond to the needs of individuals and families in Abu Dhabi by providing faster, more efficient and streamlined services that improve the customer experience and simplify procedures.
Sheikha Hessa bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the ministry is continuing to strengthen strategic partnerships with government entities to accelerate digital transformation through data exchange, system integration and simplified procedures.
She said the approach supports the delivery of proactive and innovative government services through unified channels, reducing the need for customers to move between different platforms.
She added that the initiative reflects the UAE's commitment to building a smart, sustainable and future-ready government system while reinforcing its global leadership in digital government services.
Khalaf Hilal Al Mazrouei, Director-General of Institutional Empowerment and Community Services at the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, said the integration reflects the department's commitment to enhancing customer experience and ensuring seamless government services through unified digital channels.
He said collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs enables faster processing, reduces customer touchpoints and improves service quality by combining issuance and attestation into a single digital journey.
Al Mazrouei added that the initiative supports Abu Dhabi's vision of building an integrated digital government ecosystem.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that it has continued expanding digital integration with government entities through its electronic linking programme, connecting its services with numerous government agencies and reducing procedures, requirements and service-delivery times by up to 90%.
According to official figures, around 47,000 birth and death certificates were issued in Abu Dhabi during 2025.
The Department of Health said it will continue working with its partners to develop more advanced digital services that support the emirate's goals of improving government efficiency, accelerating procedures and delivering high-quality health and community services in line with international best practices.
