Dubai Customs extends suspension period for certain customs duties
Move gives eligible importers an additional 60 days and aims to ease financial and administrative burdens while supporting supply chain continuity
Dubai: Dubai Customs has announced a temporary extension of the suspension period for certain customs duties under Customs Declaration No. 17/2026, issued on September 23, 2026, as part of efforts to reduce financial and administrative burdens on customers, support supply chain continuity and facilitate trade flows amid current operational challenges.
The declaration applies to customs transactions related to imports for re-export, temporary entry and transit operations, where the existing suspension of customs duties expires between February 27, 2026, and October 31, 2026.
Under the declaration, the suspension period for customs duties on eligible transactions will be extended by an additional 60 days, increasing the total suspension period from 120 days to 180 days.
The extension will take effect from the date on which the original suspension period expires.
Dubai Customs said it may also extend the suspension period further in accordance with its approved regulations and procedures, with any additional extension remaining in force until a subsequent customs declaration is issued to amend, suspend or terminate the measure.
The declaration takes effect from the date of issuance and will be applied temporarily to the customs transactions covered by its provisions, while the relevant departments will implement the necessary procedures within their respective areas of responsibility.
Dubai Customs said the initiative is intended to support businesses, maintain the smooth movement of trade and enhance the resilience of supply chains during the current operational environment.
