Maid’s paramour's threat to kill babysitter

An Indian carpenter, who threatened to kill a babysitter if she informed anyone about his relationship with her co-worker, was sentenced to three months in prison.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance also ordered deportation of JS, 48, after serving his jail term.

According to the records, on November 23, while the babysitter, AB, 45, Indonesian, was with her employer’s baby, she heard the bell ring.

“From the window of the room, I saw the maid, AS, opening the door for the carpenter who used to work in a quarter in the yard. As I did not see him walking to the premises, which was under construction, I got out and searched for him.
“When I did not see him in the yard and the quarter, I opened the house door and looked for his car. It was in front of a neighbour’s door. I got inside my employer’s compound and searched for him. I was shocked to see him with the maid in her room in an inappropriate position. I shouted at them. Then, pointing at his neck, the carpenter threatened to kill me if I informed my employer,” said the victim.

The babysitter got scared and did not inform her employer that day.

Later, the babysitter learnt from the maid that she has a sexual relationship with the carpenter and that she had sex several times in the employer’s house including on the day she saw them together.

Neighbours, who noticed that the carpenter used to come to the house in the absence of the employer, informed him.

“My neighbours told me that the carpenter used to come to my house and stay for about an hour. On November 24, I waited watching the house until he came at around 10.30am. He rang the bell and the maid opened the door for him. It seems that he noticed my car, because he immediately went back to his car and drove away. I followed him and searched about him in the area until I saw his car near a building under construction. I caught him and handed him over to police,” said the employer AA.

At that time, the employer’s wife called the house and questioned the domestic servants about their relationship with the carpenter.

AS admitted to having a sexual relationship with the carpenter and claimed that he had promised to marry her.

The babysitter told her employer that she came to know about their relationship a day before. She told her employer that she could not inform him as she was scared of the carpenter’s threat.

The carpenter and the maid were referred to the Misdemeanour Court for having consensual sex.

However, the carpenter alone was also referred to the criminal court, accused of making a threat to kill.
