The Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has reported 128 per cent increase in passenger throughput in May 2008 compared to the same period last year.
A report released by the airport showed that the number of passengers was 24,636 compared to 10,807 during the same month in 2007.
The number of passenger arrivals reported 124 per cent rise, increasing from just 4,927 in May 2007 to 11,056 passengers in last May.
The number of passenger departures has increased from 5,046 to 11,804, recording a 134 per cent rate of increase.
The number of transit passengers has increased by 113 per cent, from 834 in May 2007 to 1,776 in May this year. The airport has received and handled 620 flights.
