Hamdan receives Pakistani minister and former president of Namibia

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, received yesterday former Namibian president Sam Nujoma, who is visiting the country to attend the fourth international date palm conference in Abu Dhabi. They exchanged views on the importance of encouraging research and practices that will boost dates productivity, improve food quality, develop new farming methods, conserve the environment and achieve sustainable development.

Sheikh Hamdan also welcomed Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, Pakistan Minister for Communications, and discussed with him the possibility of developing bilateral technological co-operation and exchange of expertise in telecommunications. The minister said his visit to the UAE aims to explore investment opportunities this country can offer.
