Ones to watch
Cristiano Ronaldo: The transfer window opens on Tuesday with several high-profile names set for a change of clubs. Barcelona trio Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o and Deco have all been told they can leave, while Manchester United's talented but tasteless winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been talking about a move to Real Madrid for the past two months. Will he go? Time will tell, but expect an announcement soon.
Casey Stoner: Stoner was unstoppable at the MotoGP at Donington Park last week, but he remains off the pace when it comes to the race for the championship. He sits third behind Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa, but this week's meeting in Assen, Holland, provides the Australian the perfect chance to close the gap at the mid-way point of the MotoGP season.
Centre court: The main stage is set at the All England Club as Wimbledon starts to whittle down potential victors. Centre Court is where the top players can be found and Rafa, Roger and Andy will all be gracing the grass this week.
Christoph Metzelder: The 27-year-old defender plies his trade at Real Madrid, but will be hoping to stifle many of his team-mates as he lines up in the heart of the German defence. It's a dodgy business performing against the country you play in domestically. In 2002, South Korea's Ahn Jung-Hwan – played in Italy – put the Azzuri out of the World Cup. Next day his contract was cancelled.
Haroon Lorgat: The new International Cricket Council Chief Executive Officer begins his tenure this week in Dubai. Will the South African be able to restore the image of a heavily criticised organisation?
