Dubai: Stay hydrated and avoid excessive time outdoors – humid conditions are going to extend all throughout the weekend, making the weather feel warmer than it actually is.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), today’s weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds appearing over the eastern coast by tomorrow morning.

The relative humidity (RH) is peaking at 90% along coastal regions by night, and at 85% in internal areas, according to the NCM. The authority cautions there may be a probability of fog or mist spreading across cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai tonight and tomorrow morning. If you’re venturing out early this weekend, drive cautiously, as the fog may impact horizontal visibility.

Temperatures in the low-40s

Temperatures will range in the low- to mid-40s across the UAE this weekend.

According to the NCM, coastal and island regions will experience highs between 37°C and 41°C, while internal regions will be warmer, at 41°C to 45°C today.

Abu Dhabi will reach 44°C today, while Ras Al Khaimah will peak at 43°C. Dubai and Sharjah will experience 41°C temperatures, while Ajman will see a high of 40°C. Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah will be slightly cooler at 39°C and 36°C respectively.

If you’re heading out on a road trip this weekend, consider visiting higher elevations like Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, or Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain. Mountainous regions in the UAE are expected to see cooler climes this weekend, with a maximum temperature range of 30°C to 35°C.

Moderate sea conditions

The NCM forecasts light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times, and reaching speeds of up to 30km/h.

This weekend, the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to remain calm – so it’s a good idea to visit the beach for an evening swim, if you’re looking for ways to cool off. According to the NCM, wave heights are expected to reach up to two feet on-shore and up to three feet off-shore.
