Challenged teen raped, impregnated

An Egyptian Islamic studies university student impregnated a 14-year-old girl with special needs after taking her to an isolated place and raping her.

After learning she was pregnant, he forced her to come with him to a private clinic in the Northern town of Kafr Al Sheikh, where she had an abortion, the Egyptian Arabic language daily Alwafd said.

Her family knew of what happened and tracked him down to Cairo, where they caught him and handed him over to the police.

The paper said the relatives of the girl and the man are trying to have an out-of-court settlement by marrying the couple to “avert a scandal” in their village.
