Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (Dubal), the world's largest modern smelter with a captive power station, and DP World, the global port operator, have extended their strategic partnership, signing a four-year contract to handle Dubal's inbound and outbound cargo management services.

The contract entails DP World handling more than 14.5 million tonnes of imported raw materials and close to five million tonnes of aluminium products for export across the globe.

"The signing of this new contract between Dubal and DP World reinforces the long-term, mutually beneficial relationship between two world-class UAE entities, both of which are strong brands in their respective fields of expertise," said Abdulla JM Kalban, President and CEO of Dubal.

DP World CEO Mohammed Sharaf said: "We have had a close relationship for more than 30 years, during which time we have grown with Dubal, expanding and developing to continue to meet their needs. We value the contract with them as recognition that our advanced technology and focus on excellent service helps Dubal achieve high levels of operational efficiency."
