Manazil Steel Framing Factory has signed a Dh7.6 million deal to produce and install light steel framing for the capital's Naser Alnwais development. Manazil is the UAE partner of Canada-based Genesis Worldwide. Managing Director Ali Muhsin told Emirates Business the contract was the second the company had won since linking up with Genesis. The deal involves the production and installation of prefabricated framing, wall panels and the iSPAN floor and roof solution, with mansard roof panels for villas. Production will start by the end of August and installation work will begin the following month. Alnwais will consist of 14 duplexes and two single villas with an average of 4,366 square foot per villa. The total project size is 130,974 sq ft. Genesis Worldwide develops and licenses green structural building technology that uses light steel in residential, commercial and institutional construction markets. "We use many different materials to enhance the thermal insulation and this saves up to 40 per cent of the energy costs compared with traditional construction methods," added Muhsin. "And the steel is recyclable. The benefit of using the product is that it cuts construction time by almost 50 per cent compared with traditional methods. Everything is built in the factory – we just have to move it to the worksite and fix it." The Manazil manufacturing plant in Abu Dhabi's industrial zone will produce light steel panel structures using the Genesis turn-key solution, which includes leading-edge software, industrial equipment, hardware, processes and engineering services. Manazil is the exclusive provider of Genesis building systems in the UAE and Qatar. "We plan to start our operations in Qatar by next year," said Muhsin. Genesis President and CEO Vince Mifsud said the relationship with Manazil had already proved successful. "This project is an indicator that Manazil is beginning to tap into the very lucrative UAE market. Manazil's success in winning the Naser Alnwais contract further signifies that the Genesis system is gaining acceptance in an area with strong future growth potential."
