Dharma Productions is all set to make a multi-starrer in June called 'Kapoor and Sons'.
Indian filmmaker Karan Johar is on an announcement spree. The producer-director announced his next production and the cast of the movie.
The director posted about the film on Twitter saying that it will be 'a modern family film with a love triangle embedded in it'. He tweeted:
"A modern family film with a love triangle embedded in it...KAPOOR and SONS directed by @shakunbatra.....cast coming up next….
"KAPOOR and SONS starring @S1dharthM @_fawadakhan_ @aliaa08 and @chintskap @KapoorAndSons @DharmaMovies."
The film will feature Rishi Kapoor as a grand old 90-year old patriarch of a dysfunctional family.
If reports are to be believed Sidharth Mahotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan play Rishi's grandchildren. The very important roles of Rishi's son and daughter-in-law are yet to be cast.
The film will be directed by Shakun Batra, who has worked with Dharma Productions for 2012 film 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu'.
Shakun has also directed Alia in AIB mockumentary 'Alia Bhatt-Genius of the Year'.
Johar also denied reports of casting Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan in his upcoming production venture 'Ram Lakhan' remake, insisting they are yet to decide on the leading pairs.
He wrote on Twitter, "While Rohit and I are extremely excited with the excitement RAM LAKHAN has generated....we would like to say...IT HAS NOT BEEN CAST!!!"
Karan is first time teaming up with 'Chennai Express' director Rohit Shetty, who will be directing the brothers' saga.
The original cast of the Subhash Ghai's 1989 movie included Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia and Madhuri Dixit.
