It has all the ingredients of a Hollywood thriller. A beautiful model on an exotic location, arrested for drug possession with her equally exotic boyfriend.
The couple posts bail. A little later the model is found dead on a beach. Now, friends of Regina Soosalu - the Estonian model at the heart of that tragic, real-life script - are refusing to let her memory fade into obscurity.
Soosalu is believed to have died under mysterious circumstances on the Malaysian island of Pulau Rawa. Her boyfriend Tengku Alang Reza Ibrahim was silent on the death - until last week.
The page is entitled ‘In Loving Memory of Regina Soosalu 7/Dec/1984-1/Jul/2014’. According to the asiaone website, the death is being investigated as murder.
"This page is fully contributed to the remembrance of Regina Soosalu, on how she lived as a loving, caring, fun and beautiful person that we all loved," writes the administrator.
According to asiaone, a friend said both Soosalu and her boyfriend, Tunku Alang Reza Tunku Ibrahim, were well known in the club scene in Kuala Lumpur and described them as "party animals".
What adds an aura of mystery to the case, is that the model and her boyfriend appeared in court on drug charges. According to asiaone, the model and her boyfriend were charged with having 5.84gm of cannabis.
