Bollywood's new take on India, Pakistan affairs

His last film as a solo hero 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' had a decent affair with the box office (so what that it didn't make the Rs100 crore mark?), and now Sharman Joshi is ready for his next solo outing 'War Chhod Naa Yaar'.

Like 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari', 'War Chhod Naa Yaar' will also be a film with a message. But unlike 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' which has a message about inter-personal and family based relationships, 'War Chhod Naa Yaar' will have a global message.

The film is about the tension between India and Pakistan and will convey the message of harmony between both the countries.

Sharman plays an Indian Army Officer’s role in the film while his '3 Idiots' co-star Jaaved Jaffri plays a Pakistani army officer in the movie and Sharman is pretty excited about the reunion.

“It is really special and I am extremely excited and keenly looking forward to work again with Javed. It is a dream working with him again after '3 Idiots',” says Sharman.

'War Chhod Naa Yaar' also has Soha Ali Khan playing a journalist in the film. Soha was earlier seen in the award winning 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' as a media person and she wants to convey the message of global harmony through the film.

“I think it is good that our writer director Faraz Haider thought about such an idea for a script and is trying to see if we can change people through the script. And if this effort is successful we will all be very happy,” says the actress.

Faraz Haider who had earlier assisted Dibakar Bannerjee in 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' makes his debut as a director with the film.

“The film is about India and Pakistan and the relationship between both the countries. The film is a satire on the political scenario and I always wanted to make films like these,” says Faraz.

The film is set to go on the floors very soon and here’s hoping that the Aman ki Asha spreads soon. By the way 'Aman Ki Asha' is also the name of the Indo-Pak love story directed by Eshwar Nivas starring Yami Gautam and Ali Zafar that’s set to go on the floors soon.

That film surely spreads the same message, but then that’s got the message of love between a Pakistani boy and an Indian girl.
