6-year-old girl eaten by piranhas

A holiday outing turns into nightmare for a family in Brazil when their six-year-old girl was attacked and partly eaten by piranhas.

The child was with her grandparents and four other children in a canoe that capsized in a storm in Maicuru River last month-end. Later her body was found partly devoured by a large shoal of piranhas, reported BBC.

Her grandmother was quoted as saying that she managed to pull other children to safety but the little girl “slipped from her grasp”.

The girl's body was taken to a morgue in Monte Alegre, and postmortem images show that virtually all the flesh was stripped from her legs, the reported added.
