Airline staff accused of stealing $33,730

An Iranian employee LH of an airline company is accused of stealing about $33,730 (Dh123,887) and forging unofficial documents to offer her sister £90 (Dh527).
Clarifying a discrepancy in the amount on the accusation sheet, Saeed Al Gailani, the defence lawyer, told the Dubai Misdemeanour Court on Tuesday that LH could not understand the investigation procedures thoroughly as it was not in her mother toungue Persian. And, therefore, the accusation sheet stated that the amount stolen was $40,000, while the company claimed it was $33,730.
He also said that the company documents state that LH repaid some of the amount without mentioning the amount.
Regarding the forgery accusation against LH, wherein she allegedly signed a form on behalf of the company for its client, Al Ghailani proved that the ceiling of any compensation is £320 and not £90 – the amount she gave her sister.
