Alleged killer cleared by two witnesses

Two witnesses cleared a Pakistani man accused of murder after they told court in Abu Dhabi they saw the defendant’s brother committing the crime, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The two Pakistani witnesses said the defendant hit the victim, also Pakistani, with a stone on his head while his brother dragged the victim away and stabbed him to death, Alittihad said.

“The two witnesses who were at the scene said the victim was alive when he was hit by the stone,” the paper said.

“The defendant’s brother then dragged the victim away and stabbed him to death with a white knife.”

The paper said the court decided to adjourn hearings to May 1 following the new testimony in the case, which involved a bloody scuffle over a car rent in Abu Dhabi.
