Whether it’s your first or the 15th, Valentine’s Day is special for many in the city. You could be spending it with your spouse or betrothed, and there are plenty of options to choose from.

Here's our list of dinners, staycations and ways to treat yourself and your loved one this year.

Romantic getaway to The Island

Plan a romantic dinner on The Island, located seven miles off the Dubai coastline. Enjoy a 360-degree view of the city's hottest skyline as you dine with your loved ones.

Starting at Dh999 per couple, you can opt for set menu with welcome drinks. If you can budget in more, then try their exclusive romantic chalet offer for Dh2,999 per couple. It includes sparkling welcome drink, set menu and your own butler.

Le Relais de l’Entrecôte Parisan delight

Get a taste of Paris this Valentine’s at le Relais de l’Entrecôte, newly opened bistro, le Relais de l’Entrecôte, in Downtown Dubai.

The place offers a sampling of the finest premium beef steak. Add a bit of sweet flavour with a themed Valentine’s dessert, and a special surprise that’ll make your evening’s memories last.

Italian fine dining at Cipriani Yas Island

Romance, authentic Italian dishes, breathtaking views and gifts for him and her….if this is your idea for a Valentine’s Day, dinner at Cipriani Yas Island could be your choice.

With views of Yas Marina, diners get a choice between two four-course set menus; Cipriani’s signature Italian and Venetian dishes or the Japanese cuisine. Beyond the night itself, the gifts include a complimentary body massage at the La Riche Spa, while men will receive a special offer on three experiences at Yas Marina Circuit for two.

Several options at Dubai Marina Yacht Club

Dubai Marina Yacht Club has many options to choose from depending on your taste and preference.

If you’re the perfect romantic then a dinner under the stars with live entertainment can be the choice at Aquara Lounge. Here you will get chocolate dipped strawberries to share with your loved one under the stars. Price is Dh400 inclusive of the bubbly.

You can also opt for Four Great Luxury Yacht experiences and see Dubai’s stunning sights from a different perspective and enjoy a tailor made cruising ideal for special occasions, like the Valentine’s.

You can enjoy a sunrise breakfast cruise whilst anchored at sea on board a luxury yacht charter perfect for an unforgettable memorable experience.

Or go for a romantic dinner cruise on a private yacht in Dubai. The Athena yacht charter sets sail into the Arabian Gulf as the sun goes down, setting the scene with stunning views of the iconic Dubai skyline.

Romantic experiences at Madinat Jumeirah

Madinat Jumeirah has created a wide variety of romantic experiences to make February 14, 2015, a date to remember. Choose from exclusive moonlit dinners on the beach, unique afternoon tea options, pampering couples’ spa packages, or indulge at brunch for a Valentine’s feast.

Enjoy a premium beach tent and majlis at Mina A’Salam hotel for Dh4,500. This night begins in the style of an American prom with a chauffeur collection to and from Mina A’Salam. Couples receive a personalised invitation, flower for the gentleman’s lapel and flower corsage for ladies’ wrists.

Upon arrival at Mina A’Salam, guests will be welcomed by a butler and offered a beverage before being escorted to the beach area for a night of decadent beachside dining. This also includes a photo presented in an edible format on a cake at the end of the meal.

The Golden Abra is another thing you could consider. It’s a one and a half hour journey along the waterways of Madinat Jumeirah Resort accompanied by bubbles, delicious canapés, chocolate, and beautiful flowers. Priced Dh950 per couple, this romantic journey is available on February 14 from 3pm, sailing from Mina A’Salam Hotel.

Global Village

It may be tagged as the perfect destination for family fun, but no one said you can’t take your date there on Valentine’s Day. It won’t be quiet or cosy for sure, but it promises to be fun. And according to organisers, you could find gifts starting Dh90 (a pack of Saudi dates filled with nuts) or wall carpets from India Pavilion for Dh250.
