In a rare medical case, an embryo found attached to a woman’s liver had to be terminated to save her life, according to Gulf News. The embryo was receiving its nutrients from the liver and the woman was bleeding heavily internally, the report said. Doctors could not detect an embryo during normal ultrasound examinations. When the scan probe was shifted the other way, doctors found the embryo towards the liver, prompting them to say that this was a very rate pregnancy, with a 0.03 per cent probability of occurring. The foetus was 13 weeks old but had to be terminated, doctors said.
