A Bangladesh national who requested the jury of Dubai Criminal Court to sentence him to deportation after confessing his guilt to a theft accusation received the desired verdict - but only after serving a three-month jail term. After the charge sheet was read to SRS, 25, the sanitary worker pleaded guilty and told the presiding judge: “I want to be deported.” On May 17, while searching workers prior to their leaving the worksite, Jianbat Ram Mola, 50, Indian, security staff at Marina 23 project, and another security staff came to SRS who was hiding three reels of electricity cable in a bucket. Mola allowed the worker to leave the site and kept the reels at the worksite and lodged a complaint with police. SRS confessed his crime before the police and the prosecution. He repeated his confession before the court on Monday asking the jury to award him deportation.
