Confirmed is that no damage was done. “This was a complete precautionary measure,” comments a school officer explaining the closure. “We have 2,193 children in our care. We have a duty of care to all our pupils which means that we will err on the side of caution in any situation which might impact the welfare and safety of our pupils.” Repton School is the only school in Dubai to have taken the precautionary measures. But according to the officer, no complaints had been received from parents on the closure. “Our parental body has been overwhelmingly supportive of our decision to act with caution,” she said. The school will open as normal tomorrow, Thursday 18th April, 2013.
