Teenager accused of indecent behaviour

A 19-year-old Iranian, who has been accused of indecent behaviour by a bank employee , has denied the charges.

AMN, 31, told the prosecution that on July 19 at about 7pm she found a note in her car with a mobile number and a request to call. She testified that on calling the number, MB wanted a date. She agreed and meanwhile informed the police. The latter was arrested when he came for the date.

She has denied knowing MB or even talking to him before July 19.

However, the accused has a different version. He told the prosecution that when he was at Aswaq Centre in Al Warqa, at about 7pm, he happened to see AMN getting into her car. She waved at him and blew kisses before leaving. Therefore, he followed her car and found out her residential address.

On the same night at around 10pm he went to the woman’s house and left a message: "I need to know you” and wrote his mobile number as well and left it on the car’s windshield before leaving the place.

Later one day he saw AMN who requested him to talk to her, but he could not understand what she spoke.

The next day, he received a call from her and talked to her for about 12 minutes. And for the next eight days they spoke several times.

She introduced herself as 26-year-old Fatima staying in Al Quoz. He said that they spoke in English which he could not understand well.

He claimed that he called her only once on July 18, and it was just a missed call as he did not have enough credit.

On July 10, he received a call from AMN at about 8pm. But as he was busy he asked her to call later.

So she called him at 10pm and asked about his whereabouts. She later came to his house and asked him to come down and meet her. When he came down, he was received by the police, he claimed.

The case has been adjourned for verdict this week.
