Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has condemned the assassination of the Governor of Aden, Jaafar Mohammed Saad, saying that he was targeted "by the hands of treacherous terrorists today." Dr. Anwar Gargash today said, "These crimes will not discourage our common resolve to restore security and stability throughout the brotherly nation of Yemen." The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs added that the UAE and the Saudi-led Arab coalition will spare no effort in its quest to achieve these goals, stressing that terrorist crimes that seek to undermine them will not deter the solid and common objectives of the honourable Yemeni people and countries of the Arab coalition. Gargash also offered his deep condolences to the Yemeni President, the Yemeni Government, and the families of the deceased. The governor of Aden was killed in a car bomb attack on Sunday claimed by Daesh in Yemen's southern port city. A local official and residents said at least six members of General Jaafar Mohammed Saad's entourage also died in the attack, which targeted the governor as he was headed to work. Several other people were wounded.
