Dubai Police on Wednesday rescued a worker who had fallen into a water hole in the Oud Metha area. Major Khaled Al Hammadi, head of the Rescue Department at Dubai Police, said police was informed about the accident at 9.40am and reached the site within ten minutes. The eight-member police team rescued the moderately injured worker in about half an hour from the hole which was partially submerged in water. The pit’s exit was completely closed by a large piece of concrete. A side pit was dug and water drained with a pump to take out the injured worker with a crane.
