Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, visited the International Defence Exhibition (Idex 2015) and toured a number of pavilions.
Sheikh Mohamed, who was accompanied by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region, stopped at the pavilions of Raytheon, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, AM General, Oshkosh and Northrop Grumman and was briefed on the products displayed there, including missile systems, sensors, command and control systems, early warning systems and radar systems.
He also visited the national pavilions of Jordan, Canada, Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia and Sudan and moved to the stand displaying a patrol of the Security Support Division and viewed the advanced equipment and hi-tech systems such as the surveillance cameras and the flagship 'Hemayati', or 'my protection application' and the school children safe transport tracking system, designed as a smart wrist band with a board containing NFC and GPS devices, in addition to a nano chip and battery.
Sheikh Mohamed also stopped at the stand of South Africa's Paramount company where the latest land and air defence systems were on display.
He also visited the stand of Nimr Automotive, a subsidiary of the Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), and was briefed on the company's latest models, the 6X6 'Hafeet' and the 4X4 'Al Ajban' vehicles.
