The captain of a Saudi domestic flight delayed landing for nearly an hour after he was told by the airport that the runway is blocked by a disabled car.

The pilot was approaching the airport in the Western town of Taif when he was radioed by the control tower to delayed landing.

Sada newspaper said the flight from the capital Riyadh to Taif landed safely an hour later, adding that there was a “state of confusion” among the passengers.

“The plane landed safely an hour later because the runway was blocked by a disabled car…it landed after the car was towed away,” it said.
