Foreigner held in Saudi for scorning cops, publishing video on social media

Saudi police arrested a ;foreigner' after he scorned at them at a checkpoint and publicised a film on the act, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

‘Sada’ said the man was arrested a day after he was stopped at a checkpoint in the capital Riyadh for making sneering expressions at the cops.

“He also filmed the act and published it on social media. Anyone who will offend the country and its security men will be punished,” the paper said, quoting a police source.

It did not identify the man but quoted police as saying he spoke English at the checkpoint.
