Key Kuwaiti street named after Sheikh Zayed

Kuwait named one of its key roads after late UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, citing his achievements in the Gulf and other countries.

The Ring Road in the capital Kuwait City is now named “Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Road”, newspapers said, adding that the decision was in line with directives by Kuwait’s emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed.

“The decision is in recognition of Sheikh Zayed’s remarkable efforts and achievements as well as his distinguished role in the Gulf, the Arab world and the Islamic countries,” the papers said, quoting Kuwait Minister of Electricity and Water Abdul Aziz Al Ibrahim.
