Resistance attacks rebels in South Yemen

Yemen’s national army and resistance units attacked Iranian-backed coup rebels after they tried to infiltrate into the Southern Al Dale governorate, where they were expelled by the Arab coalition and their allies a few months ago.
Heavy fighting erupted between the two sides in Najd Al Qarnain in Murais town in Al Dale on Monday after the insurgents infiltrated into some positions.
Yemen’s news website Masdar Online said the army and resistance fighters succeeded in repulsing the attackers and advancing on their positions overlooking Najd Al Qarnain.
“Resistance sources said heavy clashes erupted after the rebels tried to infiltrate into that area and that the fighting continued most of the day,” the report said.
It said one resistance fighter was martyred during the fighting while several insurgents were killed or wounded.
The report noted that the army and the resistance were advancing towards rebel positions in many areas in Yemen and that the insurgents were retaliating by random shelling of residential areas.
