Rioting female Saudi prisoners lashed

Five Saudi female prisoners received between 12 and 18 lashes with the whip each in line with a court sentence after they were convicted of rioting and attacking the prison head.

The five inmates were presented to court after they rioted and assaulted the female director of the prison in the Western town of Madina nearly two months ago, Kabar newspaper said.

“The court sentenced the five to between 12 and 18 lashes each after they were convicted of rioting and beating up the prison director in protest at her appointment,” the paper said.
