Saudi Arabia has told all mosques and institutions involved in washing the dead before burial not to hire teenagers for the job. Prince Khaled Al Faisal, Emir of Makkah, said he had information that many mosques and other parties involved in such activities are using teenage boys. “You should stop this practice,” he said in a letter addressed to Makkah police, published in local newspapers on Sunday. “Hiring teenage boys for this job will adversely affect them…all mosques and other parties involved in washing the dead must stop using boys.” Muslims wash their dead at mosques, houses or other specialised institutions before burial.
