Teacher sacked for whipping student

A Saudi school teacher was sacked after he was caught on camera using a whip to lash a student many times despite the boy’s pleas to stop.

The education department said it decided to sack the teacher immediately after it saw a YouTube film showing him lashing the school boy “without mercy.”

Ajel newspaper said the management of the school in the western town of Makkah fired the teacher a day after the incident, adding that authorities supported that decision.
