Boy poisons girlfriend and later commits suicide

In a bizarre tragedy the boyfriend made his girlfriend consume poison and committed suicide himself by injecting a poisonous vaccination, ‘Mirror’ reported.

The female student K. M. Maheshika, 24, who was following a computer technology course at the Moratuwa University, had attempted to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills.

She wanted to end her life because her boyfriend was in a relationship with another girl.

Maheshika was admitted to a hospital having fallen ill due to the tablets. After receiving treatment she was waiting at the hospital intending to go home.

Police investigations revealed, that her boyfriend had visited her while she was waiting. He made her drink a packet of milk and gram which was contaminated with poison.

She died minutes after admission to the ICU.

Her boyfriend Amila Chathuranga, 25, a resident of Imbuldeniya in Kegalle, committed suicide by injecting himself with a poisonous vaccination.

The Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) had directed the remains to be handed over to the government analyst for further examination.
