UAE basks in glory of the founding fathers: Mohamed

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has congratulated the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, on the UAE's 44th National Day anniversary. He also extended his congratulations to Their Highnesses Members of Supreme Council, The Rulers of the Emirates, on this great occasion. In a statement after the official ceremony, held at Zayed Sports City on December 2 evening, Sheikh Mohamed said, "It is a magnificent day. We pray to almighty Allah to bless us to celebrate the next year in an atmosphere of security, stability and joy prevailing among Emiratis and expatriate residents alike." He added, "We are fortunate to live in such an atmosphere, especially in a region which is experiencing many challenges, while the faithful from the Arab world are trying to extinguish the fires in different places." Sheikh Mohamed said, "We in the UAE do not only bask in the glory of the 44th National Day celebrations, but we also live the joy of the Martyr's Day. With their will and determination, the people of the UAE have turned this day into a day of joy." He added, "I want to send a message to everyone that this joy did not come out of a vacuum, but from a very strong basis, thanks to the Merciful Lord and also the strong foundation laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and other founding fathers, as well as the comrades who assisted them. They all deserve the commemoration of their sacrifices." Sheikh Mohamed thanked the Almighty Allah for bestowing grace, safety and health on the UAE, and prayed to Him to protect the UAE.
