Defending champions Eurocon Alubond suffered a shock four-wicket defeat at the hands of ECB Blues in the opening match of the 23rd Sharjah Ramadan Tournament for the Interface Transworld Cup at the Sharjah stadium on Tuesday night.
Put into bat, Eurocon Alubond, were shot out for a meagre 97 in 22.1 overs with Mois Shahid and Ahmed Raza doing most of the damage. Mois claimed four for 18 while Ahmed snared three wickets for just five runs to destroy the Eurocon batting line-up.
Only Haris Baiegh offered any worthwhile resistance to a fired-up ECB Blues attack, scoring 34 off 28 balls.
ECB Blues stumbled at the start of the run chase before Mohammed Tauqir and Mohsin steadied the ship to sealed victory in 19.2 overs.
