UAE’s bodybuilders returned with a bagful of medals after competing at the Asian bodybuilding championships held in Singapore.
Ammar Salem Al Khansoori won the gold medal in the Men’s Open category while Younis Mousa Ali won a silver in the junior category.
In addition, Habib Mohammed Ali and Adil Abdulrahman secured bronze medals in the Classic competition.
UAE were represented by four athletes in this event conducted by the Asian Bodybuilding Federation which attracted 22 countries and 99 participants.
“It is big achievement by the Emirates bodybuilders to win medals. It was a reward for training hard for this competition,” said Hussain Ahmad Al Saffar, general secretary of the Emirates Bodybuilding Federation who accompanied the team as manager. Essa Hassan Ibrahim was the coach of the team.
Mohammed Shaheen Al Hossany and Ali Mohammed Abdullah went as judges for the competition.
Al Saffar, who went for the competition just days after the death of his mother, thanked the General Authority for Sports and Welfare for their encouragement and guidance to participate in this championship.
