Sheikh Maktoum pays tribute to Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid, honouring his contributions to Dubai and the UAE
Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, has mourned the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, praising his contributions to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
In a post on his X account, Sheikh Maktoum said: "The UAE and Dubai have lost today Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who was a supporter of the rulers of Dubai and a contributor to the establishment of the Armed Forces in the UAE. The people of Dubai loved him and he loved them, and his fragrant memory remains present in the hearts of all who knew him."
Sheikh Maktoum added: "Sheikh Ahmed is gone from our sight, but he remains in our hearts and prayers. We ask God Almighty to have mercy on him, to grant him a place in Paradise, and to inspire us with patience and solace. To God we belong and to Him we shall return."
