Two GCC nationals in court for assaulting a police officer

Two GCC citizens are being prosecuted in Dubai after they assaulted a police officer who tried to stop them from attacking their sister.

A report carried by Arabic daily Al Bayan states the duo was at the police station after their sister pressed charges for assault.

The brothers lashed out at their sister, resulting in an officer intervening. However, the heated argument resulted in one of the pushing the officer.

The officer then noticed blood on his uniform, realising that one of the brothers was concealing a blade in his mouth.

The duo is being tried for assaulting a public worker; separately, the brothers also confessed to beating their sister.
