Dubai: A multidisciplinary medical team at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) has helped save the life of a 21-year-old Arab woman suffering from severe Crohn’s disease complications, enabling her to regain her quality of life after years of health challenges. The patient, identified as Rasha, was initially transferred to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in critical condition after developing severe gastrointestinal complications that required admission to the intensive care unit. Returning to normal life According to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, Rasha has now regained the ability to enjoy activities she loves, including swimming, drawing and handicrafts, after years of being unable to lead a normal daily life due to her illness. She continues her treatment journey and is preparing for reconstructive surgery to reconnect the intestines and close the temporary stoma.
