Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced today that it detected 9,753 vehicles parked illegally in urban areas.

These vehicles were towed and impounded in accordance with approved regulations and stored in the Lehbab impound lot during 2025.

These efforts are part of the RTA's commitment to preserving Dubai's civilized and aesthetic appearance by monitoring and addressing these negative practices, as well as ensuring traffic safety on road right-of-way and guaranteeing the safe movement of motorists and pedestrians.

The monitoring campaigns targeted vehicles violating regulations due to the misuse of public parking spaces, encroachment on road and railway right-of-way, and other practices involving the unauthorized use of road space.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) emphasises that these behaviours negatively impact the aesthetics of the Emirate of Dubai, in addition to their direct effects on traffic safety and traffic flow within the road right-of-way.

The RTA regularly conducts inspection campaigns across various areas of Dubai, as well as awareness campaigns through social media channels, to educate the public on the provisions of Executive Council Resolution No. 54 of 2021 concerning the regulation of work within the road right-of-way in the Emirate of Dubai.

The RTA affirms that these efforts stem from the priority of preserving road boundaries, enhancing traffic safety, and protecting the assets of individuals and institutions, in line with the Emirate's vision of enhancing quality of life and supporting community happiness.

The RTA coordinates the towing of violating vehicles in partnership with Emirates Parking Services Company, which is responsible for towing and impounding vehicles and other items that violate applicable regulations.

Emirates Parking Services Company adheres to precise operational standards, including rapid response times, reaching the vehicle's location within 60 minutes of receiving a report, and completing the impoundment process within 24 hours.

In addition to transferring the offending vehicle to the Lahbab impound lot in the Emirate of Dubai, comprehensive insurance is provided for vehicles in the lots against fire and theft, ensuring the protection of the assets of individuals and institutions, in accordance with the highest international standards.
