Dubai: His Excellency Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC, has affirmed that the targeting of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant constitutes a terrorist attack on a peaceful project developed in line with the highest safety standards to provide electricity to homes, hospitals and factories across the UAE.

He described the attack as an assault on every nation’s right to development, progress and the provision of clean energy for its people.

His Excellency stressed that Barakah will continue to operate and that the UAE will continue its development journey, noting that such incidents will only strengthen the country’s resilience, determination and resolve.

In a post on the social media platform X, His Excellency said: “Targeting Barakah is a terrorist attack on a peaceful project built to the highest safety standards to supply electricity to homes, hospitals and factories across the UAE. It is an attack on every country’s right to build, progress and provide clean energy for its people.”

He added: “Barakah will continue to operate, and the UAE will continue to build. These events will only increase our strength, determination and steadfastness.”
