Who is Abdulrahman Al Saleh, Dubai's newly appointed Acting Director General of the Ruler's Court?

Veteran finance leader has held key government and board positions across Dubai and the UAE for more than a decade

His Excellency Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh has served as Director General of the Department of Finance in the Government of Dubai since 2009. He is a member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, the Strategic Affairs Council of the Emirate of Dubai, and the Supreme Fiscal Policy Committee of the Emirate of Dubai.

Dubai: Based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, announced the appointment of Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh as Acting Director General of the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai.

In a post on his X account, Sheikh Hamdan said: "Based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may God protect him, Mr Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh is appointed as Acting Director General of the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai."

Sheikh Hamdan added: "We also thank our brother Mohammed Al Shaibani for his efforts during the past periods in this position and all other positions, and we say to him: 'Thank you, you did not fall short.'"

Who is Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh?

His Excellency Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh has served as Director General of the Department of Finance in the Government of Dubai since 2009. He is a member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, the Strategic Affairs Council of the Emirate of Dubai, and the Supreme Fiscal Policy Committee of the Emirate of Dubai.

He also serves on a number of prominent boards, including the Board of Directors of Dubai World, the Board of Directors of the Federal Tax Authority, the Board of Directors of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), and the Board of Directors of the Investment Corporation of Dubai.

Al Saleh serves as Vice Chairman of Dubai Investments and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai.

In 2018, he was appointed, by presidential decree, as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates.

He previously held financial and accounting positions in several government entities at both the local and federal levels, including the role of First Executive Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at Dubai Customs.

He also chaired a number of committees, most notably the Value Added Tax Committee at Dubai Customs, and supervised and participated in several regulatory and strategic committees, including the Executive Credit Policy Committee and the Indirect Taxes Working Group.

Al Saleh is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the United Kingdom and holds an Executive MBA from the American University of Sharjah.
