UAE midday work ban ends on September 15
Three-month summer measure aimed at protecting workers from heat stress concludes after its 22nd consecutive year
Dubai: The UAE's ban on working during midday hours will end on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, following three months of preventive measures designed to protect workers from heat stress during the summer and promote the highest standards of occupational health and safety at work sites.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation will conclude the implementation of its worker heat-stress protection policy tomorrow (September 15, 2026), marking the 22nd consecutive year of the initiative.
The ban came into effect on June 15 and prohibited work under direct sunlight and in open-air locations between 12:30pm and 3pm.
The measure forms part of an integrated system of initiatives adopted by the UAE to improve workplace conditions and reduce risks associated with high temperatures during the summer season.
The policy is aimed at safeguarding workers' health and safety while supporting the sustainability and efficiency of the country's labour market.
